Redwood

Built by Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat I in 1226 by Abu Ali Reha al-Kettani of Aleppo, Kizilkule is one of the most beautiful and unique examples of Mediterranean defense structures. Built to protect Alanya Port, Shipyard and Alanya Castle from sea attacks, the tower consists of five floors with octagonal bottoms. Since it was difficult to move the stones to a certain height at that time, the tower was named Kizilkule because the top of the tower was built with roasted red bricks. Kizilkule, which was used as a military base for national defense for many years, was restored in the 1950s and opened to tourists in 1979. Alanya Ethnography Museum is located on the first floor of the tower. Kizilkule is one of the most distinguished structures of Alanya.

Alanya Shipyard

Alanya Shipyard was built in 1227 on the orders of Seljuk ruler Alaeddin Keykubat I. It was completed only a year later in 1228 and is located near Kizilkule at the end of the small coast. The shipyard is built in Alanya and consists of five arches to take full advantage of the daylight. At the entrance gate of the shipyard, an inscription, the emblem of Sultan Keykubat and various historical emblems were engraved on the façade facing the sea at a height of 56.5 meters and a depth of 44 meters. The historic Alanya shipyard, one of the most spectacular places in the region, is the only original shipyard that has been well preserved since the Seljuk period! Alanya Shipyard has a mysterious atmosphere with its architecture and solid structure.It was used as a shipyard until the 1960s and has become a museum with the theme of sea and ship today.
