KULUNCAK

Kuluncak is a district of Malatya Province. It is believed that the name of the district comes from the word "nook" because it is in a nook. Later, it changed to kuluncak, its current name.

PLACES TO VISIT IN KULUNCAK

Ashraf mound: This mound is located within the borders of Konaktepe in Kuluncak district. The remains found here are heavily reflective of the Bronze Age.

Tomb of Kabak Abdal: Located in Alvar Village in the center of Kuluncak district. This tomb was built in 1844 during the Ottoman period. 

Tomb of Mehmet Khalifa: The Tomb of Mehmet Khalifa, which is from the Ottoman period, is located in the city cemetery in kuluncak district center. Mehmet Khalifa, who was found in the tomb, is thought to have been one of the important clerics during the Ottoman period. 

Mosaics: Kaynarca District in kuluncak district center is in tosunbükü hamlet. It is estimated that the mosaics found here belong to the late Roman period. While the mosaics were first thought to be transferred to the museum, it was decided to preserve them on site when it was seen that they spread over a very large area in the area. Mosaics consist of colorful tesseras with geometric motif weight.

Bicir hillside settlement: It is 15 km away from Kuluncak district center and is now used as agricultural land. Two adjacent illegal excavation pits are seen in the field. It is said that the area in question is a roman hillside settlement.
