KEMAH
Kemah district is just one of 9 beautiful districts in Erzincan province and is located approximately 50 km from the city center. It is known that the old name of the district is Gamakha. PLACES TO VISIT IN KEMAH
SULTAN MELIK TOMB: It was built by Ahmet Gazi, founder of Mengücek Principality, in a rocky area in the center of the district between 1071 and 1228.
KEMAH CASTLE: No information is known about who built the castle, which was used by many civilizations for defensive purposes, and when. It is thought that hittites and Urartu were the first to settle, and in the Ottoman Period the interior of the castle was used as a neighborhood. WATCHTOWER: Although it is not known for certain who built the tower and when it was built, the tower, which is thought to have been left by the Seljuks, was built for surveillance purposes and also charged tolls on the road. Located on a very steep cliff, the watchtower is located in the district center.
