About Hotel
Kaleici/Antalya, where the hotel is located is within the Archaeological and Urban Conservation Area. Kaleici has the most beautiful examples of Antalya Houses and structures from Roman, Seljuk, Ottoman and Republic eras. Cedrus Hotel is one of the Republic Era Kaleici Houses. The building is estimated to have been in the late 19th century. The first owner of the mansion Tevfik Isık was the person who set up the first power plant in Antalya at the request of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who then gave this mansion to Tevfik Isık and his family as a gift. Before becoming a hotel, the building was used as a museum called The House of Cultures. The hotel is located in the center of Kaleici; right next to the historical Broken Minaret (Kesik Minare) and the Hidirlik Tower and Harian’s Gate is only a couple minutes’ walk away. The hotel is approximately 600m from the marina and 11 km from the Antalya International Airport. Its location provides guests with easy access to the surrounding entertainment venues, shopping centers, historical sites and artistic venues around the clock. Within the premises, the image of ‘Traditional Antalya House’ has been mostly preserved. The antique furniture used by the owners of the house was used in the rooms and public areas of the hotel and the historical texture was preserved and enriched. The CEDRUS TREE, which the hotel was named after, is one of the most common trees in the Mediterranean Region. It was decided that the name of the hotel should be CEDRUS to draw attention to a geography covered with Cedar Forests and the cedar trees cut during the construction of HEPPs (Hydro Electrical Power Plants) . Although Cedar Tree cutting is prohibited, unfortunately in recent years they have been intensively cut. CEDRUS TREE was used in the construction of most of the old Antalya Kaleiçi Houses. Cedar Tree has a unique smell; the most striking thing when entering into our hotel and Old Antalya Kaleiçi Houses is the unique smell of Cedar Tree. The mansion has been restored to its original in 2019 and since then it has been operating as a hotel with its 10 rooms (2 single, 6 double and 2 deluxe rooms), lobby, garden and bar.
