Akdamar Island

The mosque is made of cut stone and its minaret in the western part was added later. Within the mosque, the stone architecture and the complex in front of the mihrab are of great importance. 

Seljuk Turks Cemetery 

Captured by the Seljuks in 639 along with many works belonging to that period are located here. Cemeteries and deposits are also among the places you will encounter on your trip. The number of people buried in the cemetery is thought to be 60 thousand. There is a monumental crown door decoration on the south floor section of the cemetery divided into two. Here you can see tombstones decorated differently from each other. The oldest gravestone found in the cemetery belongs to 1340.
